Abstract

|
(1R)-Phenethylthiuumic acid 0-[ 1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenoxymethyl)-3-phenylpropyl] ester (8) was designed and synthesized as a vanilloid receptor antagonist. Acetovanillone (1) was successively converted to the thiocarbamate 8 via 6-steps sequence including Baeyer-Vlliger oxidation and copper(I)- catalyzed epoxide ring opening reaction.
